The Club Espanhol Londinense is a Spanish Language/Social Club for professionals in the City (Legal and Insurance) and this year we used Salsa Tropical for our Summer Party Event. Maria and her team were great, enthusiastic, helpful and wonderful value all round. The event was a huge success with all having fun and enjoying themselves to the full and the dance class really got people interacting with each other, no doubt new friendships were made. I really enjoyed myself and it was worth every bit of stress organising and chasing colleagues for money. The Roberto Pla band was brilliant and they created such a good atmosphere for everyone to dance too. The teachers and taxi dancers were great in both the lesson and encouraging people to dance. I have had a lot of positive feedback from the 30 colleagues that attended with many saying to me when I can arrange the next Salsa night. Testimonial 2008 Hermes' Salsa night was at Valente's, Fenchurch Street. We were greeted with very lively salsa music, and lots of sangria and tapas. These helped loosen us up and get us in the mood for all that hip wiggling Latin dancing! Maria Palmieri carefully taught us the basic steps: backwards and forwards salsa, rumba to the side, and finally a mambo. She made it look so easy while most of us had two left feet! She then helped us practice whilst rotating partners. After lots of laughter and some toe-treading, we did succeed in combining all the steps into a couple of simple routines. Everyone had a really good time, even if there were a few aching feet next day. We hope Splash will organise another Salsa party soon.

The teachers were really good, and managed to get everyone dancing for at least part of the time (even those who had said they would just watch). Lots of people have come up to me and said how much they enjoyed the lesson and a couple of us our hoping to go salsa dancing again in 2012. It was a little bit noisy so difficult to hear but didn´t seem to cause to much of a problem. At the beginning people were worried about not having screens up to block us from view, but once we started the lesson this didn´t seem to be a problem. It was also very nice to have the taxi dancer there, it meant that with a couple of girls sitting out for a rest we had even boy/girl numbers. The venue was nice, your directions helped alot, and the area was all ready for us when we arrived with the champagne and drinks in ice buckets waiting for us. We wanted to hold an hour-long salsa workshop between the dinner and the disco at our corporate event in London at the end of April 2007 and, having received a few quotations, we decided to go with Salsa Tropical, not only because of their reasonable charges, but also because of the professionalism with which Maria Palmieri handled our enquiry. I am pleased to say that this professionalism was apparent throughout all our dealings with Salsa-Tropical; Maria and her dancing partner were very successful in encouraging people onto the dance floor and showed amazing patience in explaining the salsa moves to the “slightly merry” participants. All in all, the workshop was a huge success - it achieved the aim of “breaking the ice” and getting people onto the dance floor, with a wonderful dance display by Maria and her partner at the end to show us how the experts do it.
